Several weeks ago I talked about the influence of Youtube and about some of the Youtube vloggers that I happen to follow. This week I’m shifting gears a little and maybe looking for your input. I just signed up for an application on my phone called FaithPlay. FaithPlay collects faith based podcast in one place that allows you to subscribe to the ones that you choose and hear weekly or daily talks from Christian leaders and pastors. The topics are as varied as one might imagine ranging from daily devotions to leadership issues to discipleship and worship training.
Now for those who don’t understand podcasting (myself included), here’s a definition: podcasting is the practice of using the Internet to make digital recordings of broadcasts available for downloading to a computer or mobile device. (Dictionary.com) So if there’s a popular speaker or preacher out there that you’d like to listen to, they might be podcasting their talks/sermons, and you could download and listen to them. It’s not exactly something new, but it is new to me and I wonder if many of you listen to podcasts that you’d recommend. I’ve subscribed to two so far: a daily one minute devotion from author/pastor Max Lucado, and a weekly church leadership talk from noted church leadership super guy Carey Nieuhof.
So who do you listen to regularly? Why do they interest you? What do you get out of their talks and why should I subscribe?
